Painted Presence

This project grew from seeing red paint used to cover vandalism on city walls. These urban coverups sparked a broader visual exploration.
The red rectangle becomes a powerful symbol.
In urban spaces, they mask what lies beneath. On the body, they draw attention. This contrast invites us to question: What do we choose to hide, and what do we highlight?
By placing figures against walls or merging them with landscapes, the project blurs the line between person and place. Are we shaped by our environment, or do we shape it? The answer, perhaps, lies somewhere in between.
